Commitment Meter

While teaching the D.S.N. (Divya Samaj ka Nirmaan) program, I am sometimes asked questions like:

'We face corruption at all levels, the judiciary system is so slow & we live under a constant threat of terrorist attacks! How can I make a positive difference in my society when there is such a strong negative influence around me?'

I share this short story to answer this:

Once in a small village lived a good woman. She was very pious & lived a life of trust & faith on the goodness in the world. The good woman had an evil neighbour. The evil neighbour’s only task in life was to make a mess out of the good woman’s life.

As a ritual, everyday, the good woman went to the temple to light a diya / candle. As a ritual, the evil woman also went to the temple everyday, only to put out the candle lit by the good woman.

Walking the Path

I sometimes meet people who have learnt meditation techniques & have been on the spiritual path for many years but are not satisfied with their spiritual growth.

'We do our practices every single day, but are still unhappy in life, why is this so?' Answering this question, I would like to share a short story:

Once a disciple came to Gautam Buddha & said ‘I have been coming to you for the last 10yrs. But I don’t see any changes in my life. Whereas I can see people around me, who came & joined you much later; there is so much progress & change in them. How come?’

My Country, My Valentine

Today is St.Valentines day.
This day is an opportunity for expression of love for a beloved or sweetheart.
This year, lets make our country our Valentine.

Have attached a short 2min, 31sec video, that is part of the 'Lead India' campaign launched by The Times of India group.

Our every single action & non-action is making a difference. Irrespective of the country we belong to, it is time to realise the big difference that can be brought about by small individual steps. Highly recommend to watch the Video & see this amazing example set by a small school-going child.

This week, forgetting the geographic boundaries, let each one of us do something(any one act) to make this world a better place to live in.
